“Are you coming to the Rally for Standing on the Side of Love?” a friend asked me at General Assembly a few years ago.
“What is Standing on the Side of Love?” I asked. I always feel ten steps behind on the current trends.
My friend tried to explain, but the more she explained the more confused I became. Is it a hymn? (It is.) Is it Unitarian Universalist? (It is.) Is it justice organization? (It is.) But justice for what? That’s where the confusion set in.
A few years later Standing on the Side of Love has made a great 2-minute video that my friend could have used in that moment. If you are like me and always feeling a few steps behind, I invite you to watch this video, have your aha! moment, and then, get involved. Join the revolution of yellow t-shirts who are known as the Love People.
Standing on the Side of Love is a community of people compelled to speak out against oppression, united in the common belief that love is the ultimate guiding force of our world.
Join Standing on the Side of Love for the Thirty Days of Love, a period for intentional action, service, education, and reflection running from January 19 to February 17, 2013.
