Plans are moving ahead for next fall’s All Souls Day trip to our partner Unitarian congregation in Barót, Transylvania (Romania). As part of the 12-day pilgrimage, travelers will participate in All Souls Day traditions with Unitarian families as well as visit the newly restored medieval city of Sibiu and attend a celebration of Unitarian founder Francis David at Deva Citadel.
The proposed itinerary runs from Thursday, October 29, to Tuesday, November 10, and will include home stays with members and friends of the Unitarian Church in Barót, plus three nights in hotels, one in the city of Sibiu, one in Deva and one near the Bucharest airport the night before departure.
Our minister, Rev. Emilie Boggis, will be leading the trip. As we witness the All Souls Day events and traditions, we’ll consider our own life legacies. It promised to be a journey of the spirit and body!
The estimated cost for the trip, $850, includes all meals, overnights and transportation, except for airfare. Details of the schedule can, to some extent, be tailored to the interests of participants.
