For the past several years, members of UCS have been providing students at the Chancellor Avenue School in Irvington, NJ with a winter coat, a holiday gift and a book throughout the school year. We are looking for volunteers to carry out this program again. The first gift (a winter coat) is due soon so if you could get back to Laura Beth (firstname.lastname@example.org) this week to commit to supporting a Chancellor Avenue student, that would be greatly appreciated.
If you choose to volunteer, you will be matched with a student. You will need to bring the following things to UCS for your matched child, according to the timeline below:
•A WINTER COAT by Sunday, November 15, 2015,
•A WRAPPED GIFT by Sunday, December 20, 2015; and
•AN AGE-APPROPRIATE BOOK by Sunday, February 16, 2016.
We will send you reminder emails as each date approaches. Be sure to mark all the packages clearly with your student’s name. This year, we are trying to work on building relationships between our families and the students, so we encourage you to sign your names and maybe include a photo of your family.
Thank you in advance for taking part in this wonderful program!
In the journey,
Laura Beth Brown, UCS Director of Religious Education
