At Beacon, we do life together. It’s what a covenantal religion is all about.
Explorer Circles offer newcomers and new members a chance to become more rooted in their relationship at Beacon AND determine their beliefs and values. It is for those who are new to religion, curious about God & spirituality, or coming back to community after some time away. Yes, it’s for new people — but longtime members are also welcome.
Explorers offers you a small group conversation environment with 8-10 participants per group. It’s a place where your opinions and beliefs are valued, and no question is off-limits. Explorers ends with participants writing their credo (belief) statement and sharing it with the class.
Our Summer Circle is July 21 & 28, August 4 & 18.
It is led by Rev Emilie Boggis. Or plan ahead for the Fall session.
We invite you to become a Beacon member. We are a covenantal, non-creedal community, meaning we are about right relationship, not right belief (members are not required to profess a certain belief in order to join). As members, we take shared responsibility in living out our mission to be a radically inclusive community that feeds the human spirit and heals the world.
We expect people seeking membership to attend our “Becoming a Member” Workshop on Sunday, August 11th. You’ll learn about membership, stewardship and how to get engaged at Beacon. You can register here.
You become a voting Beacon member by signing the Membership Book, participating in the life of the congregation, and making a financial pledge on record. You must be 16 years old or older.
