Building Bridges is a world religions program which seeks to deepen our understanding of the dynamic and varied world in which we live. Formerly known as Neighboring Faiths, Beacon has traditionally offered this program to our 6th & 7th graders. In 2017, after many requests, we opened the program to and adapted it for our adult community.
Participants study different religions, listen to speakers, and visit neighboring faith communities. Central to the course is building relationships with neighbors of other faiths and Beacon members with ties to these religions. This year we will study Hinduism, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and Sikhism.
The program is offered every other year, and it is led by our Minister of Congregational Life and lay leaders.
