What Did the Mothers Know?

Before Mother's Day became brunches and bouquets, it was a war cry for peace.This Sunday, curiosity leads us back to the true origins of the holiday.
Drawing on our UU inheritance of conscience, the 1870 Mother's Day Proclamation, and Beacon's own legacy of courageous dissent, we trace the prophetic roots of Mother's Day to a timeless call for peace and the wars we are reluctant to name today.
