Sponsored by the Summit Interfaith Council Anti-Racism Committee and the Anti-Racism Community Collaborative (Scotch Plains/Westfield)
Facilitated Dialogues regarding Racial Prejudice and Systemic Racism in America
Five 2-Hour Group Sessions offered the weeks of October 13,20,27 and November 3 and 10, 2019
Race and racial disparity continue to deeply impact the lives of Black and White Americans, and in very different ways. Yet honest conversations about race are rare and usually uncomfortable. Through these interracial, facilitated Dialogues you will join with other community members to explore race and racism, respond to enlightening readings, listen carefully to others, deepen your self-awareness, and explore ways to make our communities more equitable for all.
More than 400 Union County community members have participated in Dialogue Circles over the last four years. We have two curricula – Dialogue 1.0 for new participants and “deeper dive” Dialogue 2.0 groups for those who previously participated in a Dialogue Circle.
If participant sign-ups allow, we hope to offer Dialogue sessions Tuesday morning, Sunday and Thursday afternoons and Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at various locations in Union County.
Please sign up as soon as possible, but no later than October 4th.
