Legacy Giving Options
- Charitable Gift Annuity
- Pooled Income Fund
- Charitable Remainder Trust
Gifts through wills are easy to arrange and can be changed at your discretion. They allow you to make a significant contribution to Beacon while reducing estate taxes.
Contact your attorney when planning your bequest, which can take various forms. They are:
- Specific Bequest: the congregation receives a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or specific property.
- Residuary Bequest: the congregation receives all or a percentage of your estate after distribution of specific bequests such as gifts to family members.
- Contingent Bequest: the congregation receives part of your estate under certain specified circumstances.
Often, you can amend your existing will by adding a codicil or amendment which is a simple document stating that the provisions of the original document are still in effect, but you are now including the congregation as a beneficiary.
Prospective donors should consult their own financial advisor, accountant, or attorney to plan the legacy gift that maximizes benefits to them and Beacon.
