JUNIOR YOUTH - 6th through 8th Grade

During this time of social distancing, we are offering weekly check in for our middle schoolers on weekdays at 4:30 pm using this link.

6TH AND 7TH GRADERS MEET ON SUNDAY NIGHTS AT 6:00 PM FOR AN HOUR. USING CONTEMPORARY CURRICULA, OUR MIDDLE SCHOOLERS ENGAGE IN THE WORLD THROUGH DEEP REFLECTION AND BY CREATING CONNECTIONS WITH EACH OTHER.

Registration is now open for the 2020-21 Youth & Children’s small groups  Please visit this link to register your child. Although some teams are filled, all age groups for preK-5th grade need your gifts of presence and time. Once your child is registered, a link to volunteer will be sent to you.

8th Graders attend Sunday evenings from 6 to 8 PM for the award-winning Our Whole Lives (OWL) program. It’s a comprehensive sexuality education curriculum for people across the ages. At Beacon, it is offered every year to our 8th Graders who must be registered at the beginning of the year. Parents are required to attend an orientation and must give permission for their 8th Grader to participate. For non-members, there is a fee of $300 for OWL. Our goal is to help our youth become healthy people who feel good about themselves and their bodies, and build positive, equitable loving relationships in preparation for their high school years.

Leadership and Funding: Our youth ministry is led by Dr. Tuli Patel, our Executive Director, and Jamaine Cripe, Youth Coordinator. Each youth group is led mostly by trained volunteers. We encourage our members to contribute their presence, talent and time to our groups. All of us have had an adult in our growing up who significantly impacted us. We are paying it forward. Our youth groups are funded through the generosity of our members. We encourage families to join Beacon and to make a financial contribution to support this thriving ministry.

2020-21 registration for Youth & Children’s small groups will be released soon.  Please check back for more information.
