Beloved,
Are you anxious? Did I (Rev. Robin) just make you anxious by asking?
Most people are swimming in anxiety right now. Yes, it’s the pandemic, and it’s school returning, and storms approaching (or already here), work expectations shifting again and it’s grief and winter fast approaching and…
This past Sunday we had an in-person and virtual service. For the first time in a long time, I sat in each of the services, humming along and when it was time for the meditation, I didn’t have a single word in front of me, but instead I spoke from the heart.
Monday this week was easier for those moments on Sunday. The anxiety drum was just a bit quieter. In the coming weeks you will be hearing about community groups and new small groups that are designed to help us root more deeply in relationships that keep us connected and grounded.
One of the things that I can easily forget is how important small groups are in regulating our bodies, minds and spirits. Just the few songs hummed, or the time to listen to your story or kindling a light miles and time zones apart.
Starting September 19th at 6:15, we are inviting all those raising teenagers in our junior and senior youth group to join me at 695 Springfield Ave for an hour while our youth are in touch groups, 6/7th grades and Our Whole Lives. Together we will share some coffee and tea with sweets with laughter and grounding.
We can do this Beloved, one day and one Beacon at a time.
Reverends Robin and Emilie and Tuli
