Breaking the Chains: Exploring Liberation Theology
In UU congregations and seminaries across the country, there is a constant discussion going on: Are we a Liberal faith or a Liberationist faith? Liberation Theology has become one of the most influential theologies in modern history transcending its Latin American Catholic origins to influence traditions as vast as Protestantism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Shinto, and, of course, Unitarian Universalism. Join us for this final Sunday in Summer Minister Pablo Vazquez's July series on Freedom as we explore what Liberation Theology is and why it doesn't have to be one or the other and that we can, in fact, be both a Liberal faith and a Liberationist one.
Program for children and youth: PreK-5 grades begin in fellowship hall (lower level) this Sunday, for their summer program and themed activities. Grades 6-12 are off for the summer.
