Humanist Group Revival

Humanist Group Revival
At 11:30 AM on Sunday, June 23, the Beacon Humanist Group will meet to share a pot-luck meal, begin to develop a covenant, and have a presentation by Bill Griffeth about his and Nancy's visit to Paranal Observatory in Chile's Atacama Desert in July 2023.

The talk will describe how the instruments at Paranal are used to answer some basic questions, such as "How do stars form?," "What is the nature of black holes?," and "Are there Earth-like planets in our galaxy?"

Previous Humanist Group meetings have included talks like "Psychopathy and the Nature of Evil," "Christianity and Humanism," "The Poetry of War," "Ecstatic Naturalism," "Alexander von Humboldt," "Automation, AI, and the Future," "How Jesus Became God," "Women in Saudi Arabia," "Humanism v. Environmentalism," "Renaissance Humanism," "Water in the 21st Century," "Humanism in Persian Thought," and "Post-Humanism."

Everyone is welcome to bring themselves and some food to share.
