Volunteer Weekend - November 25-30

Beacon Unitarian Universalist Congregation Summit is giving thanks through volunteering, and you are invited to join us! There are a variety of one-time projects that you can support, as an individual or as a family, including activities taking place at Beacon and those you can do at home.

*Friday, November 25: Children, youth, and adults are invited to assemble care packages, 10-11:30 AM, to share warmth and comfort with our unhoused neighbors. Sign up to volunteer.

Sunday, November 27: Drop off items (9:30 AM-12:30 PM, collection boxes in the lobby at 4 Waldron Avenue) to donate for Summit Warms Heart guests. Items needed include: cases of bottled water, gift cards for holiday stockings ($15-20 each, for chain stores/food in Summit, e.g., CVS, Starbucks, Dunkin’), disposable razors, travel size deodorant, and travel size hand lotion.

Sunday, November 27: Sign up at 4 Waldron Avenue after services to bake or make treats for care packages to be distributed by the Pastoral Care Ministry. (Treats are to be dropped off following services on December 4.)

Sunday, November 27: Children, youth, and families are invited to make holiday cards to be included in care packages to be distributed by the Pastoral Care Ministry. Make cards on-site at 4 Waldron Avenue, 11 AM-noon, or pick up a craft packet to make cards at home. (Card made at home must be returned on Sunday, December 4, 9:30 AM-12:30 PM.)

*Wednesday, November 30: Join the Stewardship Team in addressing and stuffing envelopes. This event will be held in Madison at 6 PM, exact location to be provided to adults who sign up to participate.

December 4: Drop off holiday cards and *treats that will be included in care packages distributed by our Pastoral Care Ministry. Sign up to make and/or donate treats.

*Sign up is required for activities with an asterisk (*). While not required for other activities, it’s appreciated if possible, so we know how many participants to expect.
