World Religions Returns to Beacon!

Back by popular demand, The World Religions discussion group is revisiting Religions of the Axial Age: an Approach to the World’s Religions, a Great Course by Prof. Mark Muesse. The years 800-200 BCE were a ferment of religious and philosophical activity throughout the world, with major religions evolving in 4 separate areas of the Eurasian continent. The course reviews the historical conditions that gave rise to this creativity, and studies how the several traditions grappled with questions of ultimate meaning, of death, and the purpose of religion.

Please join us on occasional Tuesday afternoons at 1:00 pm, as we watch and then discuss two lectures from the series. We meet both in person in Beacon’s sanctuary and via Zoom. The meetings in 2021 are Nov. 9, Nov. 30, and Dec. 14. For more information and to receive the Zoom link, please contact Lessie Culmer-Nier at lculmern@drew.edu or 973-593-0114.
