Plays By Neighbors - October 27
Join Us for a Beacon First-Time Ever…Plays By Neighbors!
Plays By Neighbors is a fundraising event on Friday, October 27, at 7 PM, at 4 Waldron Avenue, featuring original short plays written and performed by professional New Jersey artists, specifically for our communities. Doors open at 6:30 PM for concessions, which will be available before and after the performance. Produced through Neighborhood Beacon, proceeds collected will be donated to local organizations that help our neighbors overcome food insecurity. The plays will be inspired by prompts provided by the community. Playwrights will have 24 hours to write a short play, and actors will rehearse on the day of the performance. The event will be a joyful, reflective exploration of community and the importance of gathering together. Get your tickets here! If you need childcare for this event, please email Rev. Robin at robin@summitbeacon.org.
Admission is free but there is a suggested donation of $15 for Neighborhood Beacon. Neighborhood Beacon is a Beacon social justice group that works with local small food businesses and purchases gift cards to be distributed through food banks for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.Neighborhood Beacon supports local businesses as well as people experiencing food insecurity. We seek to bring dignity and the chance for special celebrations at local restaurants, cafes, and other business when times are tough. (Not able to attend? You can donate here.)
