Social Justice Retreat – October 27-28
Looking back at Beacon's social justice ministry over the last seven years, we are reminded of the retreat held in October 2016. We learned about the history of the social justice ministry at Beacon, celebrated our past achievements, and envisioned our future. Afterward, there were events we could not have predicted (e.g, the 2020 pandemic shutdown!), but the time spent together allowed us to create vital lasting partnerships, to chart our future direction, and to respond to the changing landscape.
We believe it is time to gather again. This retreat welcomes those who are social justice veterans at Beacon and those who are currently engaged in social justice initiatives. Just as important, we welcome those who are curious and potentially interested in engaging moving forward.
We will gather on October 27 from 6 to 8 PM, and on October 28 from 9 AM to 2 PM, at 695 Springfield Avenue. We will review, plan, and envision, and break bread together. We hope you will join us! R.S.V.P. here so we can plan for food.
